1992 Merle Watson Memorial Festival (MerleFest)
The 1992 Merle Watson Memorial Festival, also known as MerleFest, was a significant annual music event held in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, in honor of Merle Watson, the son of renowned bluegrass musician Doc Watson. The festival, which began in 1988 after Merle's tragic death, celebrated its fifth year in 1992, drawing thousands of fans to enjoy a diverse lineup of bluegrass, folk, and country music. It featured performances by prominent artists and served as a gathering for musicians and music lovers to pay tribute to Merle's legacy while supporting the traditional music that both he and his father cherished.

Some if not most of them have passed away. The youngest one, the mandolin player, is MARTY STUART, who has been a famous country/bluegrass/gospel singer player for decades now. He's still going strong, especially with his band "the Fabulous Superlatives". Those cats are amazing. Check em out, they can be seen & heard all over youtube.
